Our Class Levels
-
Ages 4–6 (First-time young dancers)
Introduction to rhythm, basic Highland positions, and fundamental movement through fun, high-energy exercises. Dancers learn introductory steps (such as the Pas de Basque and 16 Pas de Basque) with the option to experience early competition events designed specifically for this age group.
-
Ages 7+ and Teens (Beginner, Novice, & Intermediate)
Foundational through intermediate technique across core Highland dances (Highland Fling, Sword Dance, Seann Truibhas) and Scottish Nationals. Advancement is merit-based: dancers progress through the categories by earning a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place stamp at six separate registered competitions (applicable in Highland and National events for Novice and Intermediate).
-
Advanced competitive dancers who have advanced through all Pre-Premier levels
The highest level of Highland dance. Dancers compete directly within their age category, refining elite technical precision, speed, stamina, and artistic presentation. Premier status qualifies dancers to enter sanctioned Regional, National, and World Championship events.
-
Adult dancers of all experience levels (beginner through seasoned dancers)
A welcoming space for both non-competitive dancers looking for fitness and community, as well as competitive adult dancers. Focuses on conditioning, technique, and exploring the full repertoire of traditional Highland and National dances at an individual pace.
