The Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (SOBHD): recognized as the governing board for Highland Dancing. The main function of the SOBHD is to bring about co-operation between recognized associations, organisations, individuals and dancers connected with Highland Dancing.

Federation of United states Teachers and Adjudicators

The Federation of United States Teachers and Adjudicators of Highland Dancing (FUSTA): dancers need to register annually with FUSTA to be able to compete in SOBHD-sponsored competitions around the world.
